The grain seeder / slot drill is an add-on seeder (Cat II), which is designed for small and medium-sized tractors.
It is used for the row sowing of ears, legumes and oilseeds with the help of the sowing devices of the grooving system for soil sowing. The seed rate is changed by mechanically moving the shaft on which the seed wheels are mounted with the control lever.
Function
The drive is transmitted from the right wheel via a chain gear to the seeding shaft and the agitator shaft. The gearbox enables two sawing speeds to be set by changing the sprockets. The seeder is equipped with double disc coulters. The seed wheels turn when the sowing shaft is turned. From there, the seeds reach the soil via the seed hoses to the disc coulters. The seed rate is changed by moving the shaft on which the seed wheels are mounted with the control lever.
The seeds are drilled 5cm deep. The disc coulters are lower than the wheels.
The double disc coulters are each sprung (travel 5-8cm) e.g. Stones, leftover wood etc.
The double disks always run or rotate in pairs.
The seed falls into the slot between the two discs.
For the convenience of the user, the seeder is also equipped with a grate for easier refilling of the seed box. There is a metal box (calibration test) and a calibration crank on the machine for metering the seed. The calibration crank is mounted on the rear wheel / drive wheel and turned by hand.
